Q: What does the $195 Installation and Usage Fee cover?
A:
The Equipment Usage Fee is a one-time charge for the installation, setup, and unlimited usage of VelocityNet's high-speed wireless equipment, which includes an antenna, bridge, mounts, and power supply. The fee is not a deposit and is not refundable.
Q: How big is the antenna/bridge?
A: It is a flat, panel that is only 12” x 12”.
Q: Who owns the antenna/bridge?
A: VelocityNet owns the antenna/bridge, but the client has unlimited use for as long as the client utilizes and pays for VelocityNet's Wireless Internet Services. If the service is terminated for any reason by either the client or by VelocityNet, the equipment is to be returned to VelocityNet. If the Equipment is not returned the client is billed and must pay $350.
Q: What if the antenna/bridge is defective or becomes damaged?
A: During the time the client has VelocityNet's Internet Service, VelocityNet will repair or replace any defective or damaged antenna/bridge at no charge to the client.
Q: How does the Internet connection get to my computer(s)?
A: There is a small ¼” diameter Ethernet cable that runs from the antenna/bridge to the inside of the premises. This involves drilling a small 3/8” hole to bring the cable into the premises. If there is only one computer, the Ethernet cable can be plugged directly into the computer’s Ethernet port. If you want to connect more than one computer to the Internet, or if you have a wireless laptop that you would like to use wirelessly inside your premises, you will need to purchase a wireless router. If you have the router available at the time of the installation, VelocityNet will set up the router and all computers at no extra charge.
Q: Is there a usage time limit or any charges for connection time?
A:
There are no extra charges, only the monthly service fee. You are connected and have Internet access 24 hours/day, 7 days/week. Like all Internet Service Providers, VelocityNet cannot and does not guarantee that maximum upload or download speeds can or will be achieved at all times or in all situations.
